Felted Kauni Hat

Before felting (Great for a bad hair and face day)


After felting
Materials
5.5mm (9US) circular needle and double pointed
Kauni yarn – EM and EZ about 50 grams of each colour.
Needle for sewing in your ends.

Direction
Using both yarns held together cast on 90 st. join your round being careful not to twist the stitches and place a marker.
Knit for 18cm (9”)
Shape the top
Knit 7 , knit 2 together – repeat this all around
Knit 1 round
Knit 6 , knit 2 together – repeat this all around
Knit 1 round
Knit 5, knit 2 together – repeat this all around
Knit 1 round
Knit 4 , knit 2 together – repeat this all around
Knit 1 round
Knit 3 , knit 2 together – repeat this all around
Knit 1 round
Knit 2 , knit 2 together – repeat this all around
Knit 1 round
Knit 1 , knit 2 together – repeat this all around
Knit 1 round
Knit 2 together.
Draw the end of your yarn threw the last remaining stitches and pull tight.
Sew in your ends
You will have e very huge hat.
To felt this hat I put it in the washer with hot water and detergent for a full cycle.
Then I put it in a hot dryer and it came out nicely felted and very fluffy.
